Yes, you read that right! We’re excited to announce that we’ll redistribute 100% of SCR tokens from the Scroll Ecosystem Project reward to our veCHESS holders on the BNB Chain. This is our thank you to loyal community members. The program lasts 10 weeks, starting Feb. 6. This guide outlines how to claim your share of SCR tokens and provides all the necessary information for this exciting distribution.
What token are we distributing?
SCR. Scroll’s native token.
Where do the SCR tokens come from?
As one of the builders contributing to the Scroll chain and community, we received our share of the Ecosystem Project reward following the announcement of Scroll’s first airdrop. (You can find more details on Scroll’s first airdrop and the Ecosystem Projects here).
How many SCRs are we distributing?
We are allocating 100% of the SCR we received. The total amount is 510,000 SCR tokens.
How long will the disbursement process last?
The disbursement will last for 10 weeks.
Who will receive the SCR tokens?
All veCHESS lockers on BNB Chain that have refreshed and updated their veCHESS holdings through the Tranchess portfolio page.

Is it a linear distribution?
Yes. Every week, we will distribute a total of 51,000 SCR to all veCHESS holders to claim. The exact amount of SCR each veCHESS locker receives depends on the share of total voting power among all veCHESS holders on the BNB Chain.
Why not distribute based on veCHESS locked on Scroll?
Since Scroll is not on Snapshot yet, veCHESS holders on Scroll cannot participate in governance voting. The entire disbursement process will last for 10 weeks, and we don’t want our supporters to miss their opportunity to vote on proposals if any come out during that 10-week window.
What if my veCHESS is currently on other chains? Can I still participate in the distribution process?
Of course! You can easily bridge your veCHESS from other chains to the BNB chain. The process takes around 5 minutes with minimal cost. You will find the bridge under “More”:
How will the distribution process go?
The distribution is similar to our usual weekly rebate: To qualify, you must lock your CHESS on the BNB chain and refresh the veCHESS amount one week before the next SCR distribution week. (We will outline the specific timelines below.)
Right now, the transfer process for SCR happens exclusively on Scroll, which means there’s an extra step involved compared to the usual weekly rebates: we minted wSCR (wrapped SCR) on BNB, matching the total amount of SCR being distributed, which is 510,000. While wSCR itself doesn’t hold any value, it serves as proof of the asset and helps us smoothly distribute SCR tokens to all our users.
This is what will happen:
- We will start our first week of distribution during the week of Jan. 30 to Feb. 6. We will allocate 51,000 to the pool sometime during this period, and all qualified veCHESS holders on the BNB chain can claim their share after Feb. 6, 14:00 UTC.
To participate in the first week of allocation, make sure to lock CHESS and refresh your veCHESS before 14:00 UTC, Jan. 30.
- Everyone who has locked CHESS and refreshed their veCHESS before Jan. 30, 14:00 UTC on Tranchess BNB Chain will see a claimable amount of wSCR after Feb. 6, 14:00 UTC.
- Claim the wSCR together with the weekly rebate.
- Once you have wSCR in your wallet, you will see a prompt on the website for claiming the SCR token.
- You can claim your SCR weekly or wait until all ten weeks’ distribution is over and claim together.
- When claiming your SCR, Tranchess will burn the wSCR in your wallet and allocate an equivalent amount of SCR on Scroll to the same wallet address.
- Don’t worry if you missed the first week of allocation; you can still participate in the following weeks’ distribution by locking CHESS on the Tranchess BNB chain.
- Last week of distribution: 14:00 UTC, Apr. 3, 2025–14:00 UTC, Apr. 10, 2025. Lock CHESS & refresh veCHESS during this week will NOT be eligible for the distribution. To participate, please do it before this week.
- The deadline for the veCHESS refresh if you want to participate in the program is 14:00 UTC, Apr. 3, 2025. Users will be eligible for the last distribution if they lock CHESS and refresh the veCHESS amount during Mar. 27, 14:00 UTC ~ Apr. 3, 14:00 UTC.
